Our Story
Il Lume Design is a family business in every sense of the word. Our founder spent years working in e-commerce for a family-owned lighting and electrical supply company — one of the most respected regional distributors in the industry, built over six decades by his father. When that business was sold in late 2022, the next chapter began: a new company built on the same foundation of product knowledge, industry relationships, and genuine care for getting the details right.
That foundation is real. Between our founder and his father — who brings over 60 years of experience in lighting and electrical supply and serves as a senior advisor to the business — Il Lume Design carries a depth of industry knowledge that most online retailers simply don't have. We know these products. We know how they're installed. We know what questions contractors and designers ask, and we know the answers.
